May's Character Word:
|
|
The character word for the month of May is Integrity. Integrity is defined as being honorable, having principles of moral and ethical strength. Being good when no one is looking; doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do. We display Integrity on the bus by treating bus equipment with respect, by being on time, and by helping to keep the bus neat and clean even when no one is looking.
Our expectations are Practice Respect, Act Safely, Work Hard, and Show Responsibility. "PAWS" |

Thank you all for your generosity!
Students at Benton Elementary School joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the 2013 Pennies for Patients Campaign.
Our student body raised $ 1,487.95 to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease and Myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Leukemia is the number one cancer killer of children and young adults under the age of 20. Together we are working to change that!
Thank you also for your participation in sending in family members’ names so that we could create our Family Recognition tree. This will be up in our main hallway for the next couple of weeks. It has been a wonderful opportunity to recognize those we love who have been affected by cancer.
Benton Elementary’s participation is making a difference and brings The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society one penny closer to finding cures for blood cancer!
Thank you,
Jennifer Erisman

The year is quickly coming to an end and the calendar is filling up. There are lots of year-end activities such as field trips, programs and fundraisers. I appreciate all of the effort provided by parents and students during our fundraising activities. They help us to provide special items or equipment for the students. Third and fourth grade teachers and students are working hard to prepare for MAP testing. Testing will be the weeks of April 22nd and April 29th. Your support in their efforts is greatly appreciated! As always, feel free to contact me if you need anything. Jody Wagner Principal, Benton Elementary |
